Based in Perthshire, Cluan Forestry is a small forestry business contracting on commercial forest plantations and estate woodlands, predominantly dealing in thinnings.

Using purpose-built machines designed for thinning, John Deere & Gremmo,  they are narrow and can move well throughout the forest, helping to minimise damage to tree roots and standing trees, the machines are well-suited to lighter or smaller clear fell sites. 

The  John Deere 1170 E uses the AFM 55 head capable of felling & processing trees up to 450mm. The AFM 55 is well suited for clear felling and later thinning operations as well as first thinning The AFM 55 has big capacity and perfect holding geometry for the big stems. Three rollers feeding together with four delimbing knives ensures high quality production operations with the Gremo 1050F forwarder these are agile, low-impact, and ideal for sensitive ground conditions.
